Jackson Browne – When Andrea Stolpe suggested in one of her blogs the power of networking I don’t think she had the following in mind. Jackson Browne has been such a songwriting influence for many years for me. I just plain love his lyrics, melodies, voice and guitar playing. Although I’ve seen him many times over the years I love his acoustic performances. I happened to notice over the weekend that he would be playing locally, but it was sold out. The box office was kind enough to let me slide in and watch the show on the side anyway. After the show I did have the opportunity to tell Jackson how much I enjoyed the show and music and what an influence he was on me in regards to songwriting. Ok, if that wasn’t stalker like as it was, this next part is where it gets even sillier. I asked if he could take my music business card and let it ride on his bus. He smiled and agreed and it did get on the bus. I’m not sure what my thinking was. I think it was a karma thing. I don’t know. In any event, the card probably ended up in the trash, but for days my husband and I would joke about where “I” was traveling now and all the good music vibe I would be getting through my business card.

On to serious business --- I just started my Spring Semester at Berklee and am looking forward to Music Theory with Dave Lima! It gets challenging fast. Cheers.
